ASUS Laptop Charging Port Repair — your questions answered
How long does an ASUS charging port repair usually take?
Most barrel or USB-C port jobs are completed in one to three business days once parts are in stock. Complex board-level work such as charging IC replacement can extend to four days while we source the correct BQ series component and verify power rails.
Can I keep using a generic charger on my ASUS laptop?
We recommend genuine ASUS or quality 100W+ PD chargers only. Many third-party units lack proper PD negotiation and can damage the charging IC or deliver unstable voltage to high-wattage gaming models such as the Strix Scar series.
Will replacing the port fix slow charging on my ROG Strix?
Slow charging is often caused by a worn barrel jack or incorrect PD profile rather than the port itself. Our free diagnostic checks both the connector and the charger handshake before quoting any repair.
Do you replace the whole motherboard if the charging circuit fails?
No. We isolate the fault to the DC-in board, USB-C flex or charging IC and replace only the affected component. Full board replacement is quoted only when multiple power rails are damaged beyond economical repair.
Is the 90-day warranty transferable if I sell the laptop?
The warranty stays with the device for the remaining period and covers both parts and labour on the repaired charging circuit. Keep your invoice as proof of service date.
