Why such a wide price range per scenario?

Diagnostic determines the specific work required. A clicking HDD might need just a PCB swap ($880) or a full head + platter clean ($1,800). We quote firm after diagnostic, not before.

'Free phone assessment' — do you offer that?

We don’t blanket-offer it because it changes our work incentives in unhelpful ways. What we do: free phone assessment with firm quote BEFORE work begins. If we agree to proceed and don’t recover what we said we would, we discount or refund proportionally.

How much does ransomware decryption cost?

Depends entirely on the strain. Some families (older LockBit variants, REvil after takedowns) have public decryption tools — $480 to apply. Other strains have no public tool — we may attempt brute-force or partial recovery for $1,400+, success uncertain. Best protection: always have a clean offline backup.

Apple Silicon Mac storage cost?
