360° hinge wear (signature Spectre fault)
Convertible hinges work through 360 degrees and wear faster than clamshell. After 2-3 years tension drops. Re-tension: $220-$320. Full hinge cluster: $480-$680.
OLED panel burn-in
Spectre OLED option (Gen 2021+) susceptible to burn-in after 18-24 months of heavy productivity use. Panel replacement: $1,000-$1,400 fitted special-order.
Battery swell
Bonded into chassis. Replacement: $420-$580 fitted depending on cell capacity.
USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 port wear
Spectre charges only via USB-C PD. Port flex replacement: $320-$420 fitted.
HP Sure Start / Sure View security features

Re-tensioning the dual-axis 360° hinges costs $220-$320 and is usually completed the same day. If the hinge clusters themselves are worn beyond adjustment we replace the full assembly for $480-$680 with a 90-day warranty.
Can you fix OLED burn-in on my Spectre x360 14?
Burn-in on the 2021+ OLED panels cannot be reversed. We source a genuine HP OLED assembly and transfer the digitiser, camera and bezel. Replacement fitted costs $1,000-$1,400 and carries our 90-day parts and labour warranty.
My Spectre x360 battery is swollen and pushing the trackpad up — is that covered?
Bonded batteries in the Spectre x360 13.5/14 and 16 models commonly swell after three years. We remove the old 84 Wh pack, fit a new HP cell and reseal the chassis for $420-$580. No-fix-no-fee applies if we cannot safely extract the swollen battery.
Does the Spectre x360 only charge through USB-C and can the port be repaired?
All Spectre x360 models charge exclusively via USB-C Power Delivery. When the Thunderbolt 4 flex cable fatigues we replace the I/O board flex for $320-$420. The repair restores full 65 W or 100 W charging and data transfer.
Will my data be safe if you work on the motherboard or BIOS?
We always create a full disk image of your NVMe drive before any board-level or BIOS work. The image is stored encrypted on our secure NAS and returned to you on completion at no extra charge.
