iMac Pro Repair FAQs
How much does iMac Pro repair cost?
Every iMac Pro repair begins with a free, no-obligation Quick Quote. You get an upfront fixed price before any work starts, and our no-fix-no-fee promise means you only pay if we solve it. All repairs carry a 90-day warranty.
Can you recover data from a iMac Pro?
Yes. We can recover documents, photos and files from your iMac Pro’s SSD, NVMe or hard drive — even if it won’t boot or power on. Ask us to image the drive before any repair so your data is protected.
Do you repair the iMac Pro out of warranty?
Absolutely. We’re an independent repairer, so we fix iMac Pro units that are out of warranty or no longer supported by the manufacturer — usually faster and for less.
Where can you repair my iMac Pro?
Australia-wide. We offer onsite visits, secure remote support, and workshop repair with nationwide pickup — whichever is fastest for you. Call 1300 723 628 to arrange.
Why won’t my iMac Pro turn on?
A iMac Pro that won’t power on is most often a failed power supply or adapter, a power-button or front-panel fault, or a motherboard issue. We diagnose it for free, give you a fixed-price quote, and most no-power faults are repairable — no fix, no fee.
My iMac Pro screen is black, dim or cracked — can you fix it?
Yes — on an all-in-one the screen is built in, so display, backlight and panel faults need careful repair. We diagnose whether it’s the panel, the backlight, the graphics or a cable, then repair or replace it.

iMac Pro Repair faults we repair every week
T2 chip boot failure
Symptom: No power or black screen after power button press, sometimes with three short beeps
How we fix it: Technician isolates the T2 security chip on the logic board using Apple diagnostics; if the chip has corrupted firmware it is reflashed via DFU mode, otherwise the board is replaced.
Repair or replace? depends — T2 reflash is often viable, board replacement required if the chip itself has failed
Vega Pro GPU overheating
Symptom: Sudden shutdowns, loud fan, or coloured vertical lines on the 5K display
How we fix it: The 27-inch iMac Pro is opened, the GPU heatsink is cleaned and repasted with high-conductivity thermal compound, and fan curves are recalibrated in diagnostics.
Repair or replace? repair — repasting and cleaning resolves most thermal shutdowns; GPU replacement is rare
Internal 1 TB or 2 TB PCIe SSD failure
Symptom: Folder-with-question-mark icon on boot or extremely slow performance
How we fix it: The iMac Pro is opened using the correct pentalobe and suction-cup procedure; the failed blade SSD is replaced and data is recovered to the new drive via Target Disk Mode or external enclosure.
Repair or replace? repair — SSD swap is straightforward and data recovery is usually possible
27-inch 5K LCD panel delamination
Symptom: Yellowing or cloudy patches spreading from the corners of the screen
How we fix it: The complete display assembly is removed, the damaged LCD is separated from the glass, and a new OEM-grade panel is bonded and recalibrated for colour accuracy.
Repair or replace? replace — panel replacement is the only permanent fix once delamination begins
Power supply unit capacitor degradation
Symptom: Intermittent power loss or failure to wake from sleep after several years of use
How we fix it: The rear cover is removed, the 450 W internal PSU is tested under load, and the unit is swapped for a tested replacement if capacitors show ESR drift.
Repair or replace? repair — PSU replacement restores reliable power without affecting other components

iMac Pro Repair — your questions answered
How much does iMac Pro repair cost?
Every iMac Pro repair starts with a free Quick Quote. Typical jobs range from $245 for a GPU repaste to $890-$1350 for a full 5K panel. You receive a fixed price before any work begins and pay only if the repair succeeds.
Can you recover data from a failed iMac Pro SSD?
Yes. Our technicians remove the internal PCIe SSD, image it in a controlled environment, and copy your files to a new drive or external storage. Success depends on the extent of the drive failure, but we achieve high recovery rates on iMac Pro units.
Is the iMac Pro still worth repairing in 2025?
The iMac Pro remains a capable workstation for video editing and 3D work. When the fault is limited to storage, power supply or thermal issues, repair costs are far lower than replacing the entire machine with a new Mac Studio or Mac Pro.
Do you offer onsite repair for iMac Pro units in regional Australia?
Yes. Our technicians travel to homes and offices across capital cities and many regional areas. For complex display or logic-board work the unit may be collected and returned after workshop repair; remote diagnostics are also available.
What warranty comes with iMac Pro repairs?
All parts and labour carry a 90-day warranty. If the same fault reappears within that period we rectify it at no additional charge. The warranty covers both workshop and onsite repairs performed by our technicians.
