Metabox & Clevo Data Recovery — Failed SSD, Dead Board
Last Updated:
Metabox / Clevo data recovery is straightforward — every modern Clevo chassis has user-accessible M.2 NVMe SSDs (typically 2 slots, sometimes 3). We can pull the drive, image to external, and recover even when the mainboard is dead. BitLocker-encrypted drives need the recovery key.
Common Issues & How We Fix Them
Working device backup
Image-and-clone: $180-$280.
Dead board, healthy SSD
Pull M.2, read external, recover. $280-$420.
BitLocker-encrypted
We need the recovery key from account.microsoft.com or your local backup.
Failed SSD with bad NAND
Industrial-grade recovery tools. $480-$1,200 depending on severity.
RAID-0 dual-NVMe (rare Prime / X170 configurations)
Some Clevo Prime / X170 builds shipped with RAID-0 dual NVMe. Stripe reassembly via specialised tools. $480-$680.
Water-damaged drive
SSD usually survives water damage. Recovery via pull-and-image as normal.
