Common Issues & How We Fix Them
Tight thermal envelope
Thin chassis = tight cooling. Edge runs hotter than Alpha at the same workload. Preventive repaste at 18 months recommended. $280 flat.
USB-C PD charging (some variants)
Some Edge SKUs accept USB-C PD as alternate charging. Port replacement at $320-$420.
Single-fan failures (Edge 14″)
Some Edge X SKUs ship with a single larger fan instead of dual. Bearing wear means whole-system thermal failure. Replacement: $220-$320.
Hinge crack risk (thin chassis)
14″ Edge has tighter hinge mounting tolerance. Re-bond + reinforce same as Alpha: $320.
Battery in thin chassis
Smaller cell ages similarly to other gaming laptops. Replacement: $420-$580.
