How to log in to your TPG modem
- Connect a device to the modem (Wi-Fi or cable).
- Open a browser and go to http://192.168.20.1 (NetComm default) – some TPG modems use 192.168.1.1.
- Log in with the username and password below (or from the sticker).
Default login for TPG modems
| Modem | Admin URL | Default credentials |
|---|---|---|
| NetComm (NL20 and most models) | 192.168.20.1 | Username admin, password admin (or on the sticker) |
| Other TPG-supplied modems | 192.168.1.1 | See the barcode sticker on the modem |
Always check the sticker on the modem first – the IP and login can differ by model and may have been changed.
Forgot the password? Reset it
Hold the reset button for about 30 seconds while powered on to restore factory defaults (most NetComm units return to admin/admin). This also clears any custom Wi-Fi name/password and TPG settings, so they’ll need re-entering.
Changing your Wi-Fi name & password
Once logged in, open the Wireless / Wi-Fi settings to change your network name and password. Use a strong password on both bands. We can do this remotely and re-secure the modem for you.
Common TPG modem problems we fix
- Forgotten password
- 192.168.20.1 or 192.168.1.1 won’t load
- admin/admin is rejected
- Locked out after changes
- Changing the Wi-Fi password
- A reset wiped the configuration
Most TPG modems are NetComm (192.168.20.1, admin/admin) but some use 192.168.1.1 — check the sticker. A reset returns NetComm units to admin/admin but clears custom settings, which we can re-enter for you.
