Aussie Broadband (Zyxel) modem lights – what they mean

Sync problem vs login problem

A flashing DSL light that never goes solid points to a line-sync or cabling fault. A solid DSL but red internet usually means the line is fine but the PPPoE username/password is wrong or missing – common after a reset. We can tell the difference and fix the cause.

Frequently asked questions

What does a red light on my Aussie Broadband modem mean?

A red Internet light means no connection – usually a line-sync issue or wrong PPPoE details. Restart the modem; if it stays red, the line or connection settings need checking.

What colour should my Aussie Broadband modem lights be?

Power and DSL/Internet should be solid green – that means the line is synced and you’re online.

Why is my Aussie Broadband DSL light flashing?

A flashing DSL light means the modem is trying to sync the line. If it never goes solid, there’s a cabling or line fault to investigate.

My Aussie Broadband modem won’t connect after a reset – why?

A reset clears the PPPoE login, so the line may sync but the internet light stays red until your Aussie Broadband username and password are re-entered. We can do that for you.

Do all Aussie Broadband modems use the same lights?

Aussie ships Zyxel modems, which follow the same pattern – power, DSL/internet and Wi-Fi. Tell us the colour you see and we’ll tell you what it means.

Can you fix it remotely?

Yes – login and PPPoE issues are usually fixable remotely; we send a technician onsite for cabling and line faults.
