360° hinge wear
Convertible hinges work harder than standard clamshells. After 2-3 years the hinge tension drops and the screen no longer stays at intermediate angles. Re-tension: $220-$280. Full hinge cluster: $480-$580.
Touchscreen unresponsive
Often a software state issue (free reinstall fix). Hardware: digitiser dead within the bonded panel = full assembly replacement.
Active pen not detected
XPS 13 2-in-1 supports Dell Premium Active Pen / MPP 2.0 pens. Free pairing check; pen replacement if it’s the pen itself.
