Backlight bleed / IR halo
Within Dell’s panel warranty: replacement. Out of warranty: live with or replace.
Display cable failure (rare)
If external HDMI/USB-C works but internal panel stays dark, the eDP cable or its connector has failed. Replacement: $180-$280.

How we fix it: Full OLED panel is ordered as a special Dell part; after fitting, firmware is flashed to reduce static element brightness and extend panel life.
Repair or replace? replace — burn-in is a permanent pixel degradation that cannot be reversed by software or calibration
3.5K UHD+ panel delamination
Symptom: Rainbow edge distortion and air pockets appearing on top-spec XPS 15 and XPS 17 high-resolution screens
How we fix it: Complete panel swap using the correct 16:10 3.5K assembly, followed by eDP cable inspection to rule out connector damage.
Repair or replace? replace — delamination voids the optical bond and requires a new bonded module
eDP display cable fracture
Symptom: Internal screen remains black while external monitors via HDMI or USB-C function normally
How we fix it: Lower bezel and hinge covers are removed, the damaged eDP cable is unplugged at both ends and a new shielded cable is routed and secured.

Touch digitiser failure within bonded panel
Symptom: Touch input stops responding while the LCD image remains clear on an InfinityEdge touch model
How we fix it: The entire display assembly must be replaced because the digitiser layer is fused to the LCD; no separate digitiser service part exists.

Can I replace the touch layer separately?
No — the digitiser is bonded into the complete panel assembly on every XPS model. Replacement must be done at the full display level, which also restores touch functionality.
How long will my Dell XPS be without a screen during repair?
Most InfinityEdge IPS jobs are completed in one to three business days once parts arrive. OLED and 3.5K UHD+ panels are special-order items and typically require three to five days.
Do you use genuine Dell screens or aftermarket panels?
We source OEM-spec panels that match the original resolution, colour gamut and connector pin-out. Using non-matching panels can cause brightness, scaling or webcam issues.
Is it worth repairing an older XPS 13 or XPS 15 screen?
For models still running Windows 11 and with good battery health, screen replacement often extends usable life by two to three years at a fraction of the cost of a new machine.
Will the repair affect my Dell warranty?
