Framework Laptop Repair — Modular Specialist
Last Updated:
Framework Laptop is the modular repairable laptop — designed to be user-serviceable for almost every component (CPU mainboard, RAM, SSD, keyboard, screen, ports via swappable Expansion Cards). Built-in Right-to-Repair ethos. Growing niche in AU among environmentally-conscious + technical users.
Framework-specific service: Expansion Card slot wear (frequent swapping wears the connector — replace the slot module), mainboard upgrade installation (newer CPU mainboard fits the same chassis, we do the swap + test), keyboard replacement (Framework keyboards are user-replaceable but customers often prefer us to do it), and screen panel swap (Framework 13 has FHD+ and 2.8K options — we can upgrade in place).

Common Issues & How We Fix Them
As a modular, repairable laptop, the Framework is built to be fixed — and we fix every part of it. These are the issues we see most.
Mainboard faults and upgrades
Framework’s defining feature is the swappable mainboard. We diagnose board-level faults and handle mainboard replacements and generational upgrades while preserving your storage and data.
Expansion card and port problems
If an expansion card is not detected or a port has stopped working, the fault may be the card or the bay. We test each module and replace only what is faulty.
Keyboard and input-cover issues
Dead keys, an unresponsive trackpad or a damaged input cover are quick fixes on a Framework thanks to its modular design — we replace the affected module, not the whole laptop.
Cracked or faulty screen
We fit a model-matched display for cracked, black or flickering screens and recalibrate before return.
Battery that won’t hold charge
A Framework battery that drains quickly or will not charge is a straightforward, repairable module. We fit a correct-capacity cell and verify charging.
Won’t power on
A no-boot Framework is usually a mainboard, memory or storage fault. We work through each module to find the cause without unnecessary parts.
