The ThinkPad Z13 (13.3″) and Z16 (16″) launched in 2022 as Lenovo’s premium consumer ThinkPad line — same ThinkPad keyboard + TrackPoint with refreshed chassis design (bronze or grey), OLED display options, AMD Ryzen 6000/7000 series CPUs (Z16 had RTX 30-series option). Polarising design but solid hardware. We service Z13 and Z16.

Common Issues & How We Fix Them
OLED burn-in
Z13 OLED + Z16 OLED top-spec susceptible. Panel replacement: $1,000-$1,400 fitted.
Battery service
Bonded. Replacement: $420-$580 fitted.
USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 port wear
Z-series moved to USB-C only (no slim-tip charger). Port flex: $320-$420.
Z16 RTX 3050 thermal
Discrete GPU in slim chassis runs hot. PTM7950 re-paste: $280.
Bronze / grey chassis cosmetic wear
Z-series finish shows wear sooner than ThinkPad black. Mostly cosmetic — not a repair concern but worth noting.
Recycled materials
Z-series uses recycled aluminium + leather alternatives — slightly different durability profile vs traditional ThinkPad. Same repair workflow.
