Single 256GB SSD performance issue (M2 entry)
The 256GB M2 Air entry SKU has a SINGLE NAND chip (vs the dual-chip 512GB+ which run in parallel). Effective SSD speed is roughly half of the 512GB SKU. Apple’s design choice — not a fault, but customers buying M2 Air entry should know. We can’t fix it (soldered), but we can advise on workarounds.
