How much does it cost to fix flexgate on a 2017 MacBook Pro?
The longer revised flex cable replacement is fitted for $480 including labour and carries a 90-day warranty. We open the display assembly, route the new cable away from the hinge pinch point and test full brightness range before return.
Can I tell if my MacBook needs a new screen or just a cable?
Shine a bright torch at the screen at an angle. If you see a normal desktop image, the panel is intact and only the backlight circuit or flex cable has failed. No image means the LCD itself must be replaced.
Will Apple still fix flexgate under their old program?
Apple's free flexgate repair program ended in 2023. We now handle these repairs using the revised longer cable that avoids the hinge stress area that caused the original failures.
How long does a MacBook backlight repair take?
