Razer Blade GPU repair is one of our most common board-level services. All Razer Blade RTX 30/40/50 mobile GPUs are BGA-soldered — they’re part of the motherboard, not a swappable module. Failure modes: cracked solder joints from thermal cycling (reflow candidate), bare-die damage (motherboard swap), or VRM/MOSFET failure on the GPU power-delivery stage (component-level repair).

Our reflow process: controlled-temperature pre-heat + targeted IR reflow + post-flow stress test. Success rate is 60-75% for cracked-solder failures, lower for die-damaged GPUs. If reflow doesn’t hold, we credit the reflow cost toward a full motherboard replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

GPU not detected in Device Manager — reflow candidate?

Maybe. If the GPU shows in BIOS but not Windows, it’s often a driver issue (no charge to diagnose). If it shows in neither, it’s hardware — could be cracked solder (reflow candidate $580) or VRM failure (component-level, $480-$680).

Reflow success rate?

60-75% for cracked-solder failures. Lower for thermal damage to the die. We test and warranty the reflow for 90 days.

RTX 4090 mobile is dead — can I swap it for an RTX 4080?

No. The mobile RTX is BGA-soldered to the motherboard. Different SKUs use different motherboards. We can replace the whole motherboard with a matching-SKU board, but we can’t change GPU tiers.

RTX 5090 mobile reflow possible?

Yes. We have RTX 50-series BGA reflow capability. Most 2025 SKUs are still in Razer warranty — claim through Razer first if eligible.

My Blade GPU is throttling under load — same fix?

No. Throttling is thermal — see thermal repaste or vapor chamber. GPU repair is for outright failure (no detection / artefacts / black screen).
