RTX 4090 thermal management
175W RTX 4090 mobile in 18″ chassis runs hot. Factory paste hits end-of-life around month 12-18 of heavy use. PTM7950 re-paste + heat-exchanger clean: $320 flat (slightly higher than smaller m-series because of the larger die area).
18″ lid hinge stress
The 18″ lid is the heaviest in the Alienware lineup. Hinge mounting post crack risk is real — book a check at the 24-month mark. Re-bond + reinforce: $320-$420.
Mini-LED zone failures
QHD+ mini-LED panel has hundreds of dimming zones. Individual zone failures show as dark spots or halos around bright UI. Full panel replacement: $1,300-$1,600.
Tobii eye-tracking module
