Common Issues & How We Fix Them
Vapor chamber thermal degradation
Thin Zephyrus chassis depends on vapor-chamber cooling. After 18-24 months the paste degrades AND vapor-chamber can lose vacuum. PTM7950 re-paste recovers paste; chamber replacement if vacuum lost ($500-$800 part + 4 hr labour).
AniMe Matrix (G14 specifically)
The G14’s dot-matrix LED lid is iconic. Software state via Armoury Crate (free fix) or hardware controller flex ($280-$420).
Battery swell
Thin chassis runs cell hot. Replacement: $480-$650 fitted.
Hinge wear (M16, Duo)
Heavy lids on thin chassis = stressed hinges. Re-bond + reinforce: $320-$420.
OLED panel burn-in (G16 / G14 OLED)
Recent Zephyrus generations with OLED susceptible to burn-in. Panel replacement: $1,000-$1,400 fitted.
Duo 16 secondary screen issues
The Duo’s secondary touchscreen has its own cable + controller. Replacement: $480-$880.
S17 rising-keyboard mechanism
S17’s keyboard rises on a hinge when you open the lid (for cooling). Mechanism wear is a unique S17 fault. Service available.
