Laptop Screen Replacement — Australia-Wide Specialist
Last Updated:
Laptop screen replacement is one of our highest-volume services — about 25-30% of weekly workshop work. We replace every panel type across every brand: standard IPS (most consumer laptops), 240Hz / 360Hz gaming IPS (Razer, MSI, ASUS ROG), OLED (Dell XPS, ASUS Zenbook, Razer Blade), mini-LED (MacBook Pro XDR, MSI Titan), 4K UHD, touch + 2-in-1 convertible screens, and legacy TN panels on older budget laptops.
Our process: identify exact panel by model + serial, source OEM-spec replacement (Apple-spec for MacBook, Razer-spec for Blade, etc.), disassemble carefully (modern laptops use Pentalobe + Torx + adhesive bezels), fit + cable test, calibration where applicable, return with 90-day warranty. Most common turnaround: same-day to 3 business days; special-order panels (OLED, mini-LED, 4K) up to 7 days.

Common Issues & How We Fix Them
Cracked or shattered screen
The most common reason laptops reach us — a drop, a knock in a bag, or pressure on a closed lid. Cracked glass, black patches, spider-web lines or leaking liquid crystal all mean the panel itself needs replacing, and in almost every case a cracked laptop screen can be replaced rather than writing off the machine. We fit a genuine OEM-spec panel matched to your exact model, resolution and touch or non-touch type, test it, and under our no-fix-no-fee policy you only pay if we solve it.
Black screen, but the laptop is still running
If you can hear the fan and see the keyboard backlight while the display stays black, the panel is often fine — the fault is usually the backlight, the display cable, or the graphics output. We always triage against an external monitor first, so you are not paying for a new panel when a cable or board repair is all that is needed.
Lines, flickering or colour distortion
Vertical or horizontal lines, flickering, or washed-out colour point to either a failing panel or a loose or damaged display cable behind the hinge. We isolate which it is before quoting, because a re-seated cable is a fraction of the cost of a full panel.
Dim or very dark screen
A screen you can only read under a torch usually has a failing backlight or power circuit rather than a cracked panel. Depending on the model we repair the backlight circuit or replace the panel assembly — we confirm which before any work begins.
Touchscreen not responding or cracked digitiser
On touch laptops the glass digitiser and the LCD are usually bonded together, so a cracked touchscreen normally means replacing the whole assembly. We check whether your model uses a bonded or separate digitiser so the quote is accurate up front.
Loose, wobbly or separating screen
A lid that will not hold its angle, flops shut, or is lifting at the corners is usually a worn hinge or a swelling battery pushing on the panel — both can crack the screen if left. We repair the hinge or hinge mount and check the battery at the same visit.
Most laptop screen replacements are completed in 1–3 business days, and often same day on common HP, Dell, Acer, Lenovo and ASUS models we keep panels in stock for. Every repair is covered by our no-fix-no-fee guarantee and a 90-day warranty.
