The ThinkPad P-series is Lenovo’s mobile workstation line — Intel Xeon or Core i9 + RTX A-series workstation GPU (A500, A1000, A2000, A4000, A5000 mobile), ISV-certified for AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Creative, Maya, Revit and the rest of the CAD/CAM/3D workflow. RTX A-series workstation GPU service
RTX A2000/A4000/A5000 mobile workstation GPUs run hot under sustained 3D/render workload. PTM7950 re-paste + fresh VRAM pads: $320 flat (slightly more than consumer due to workstation cooling complexity).
Battery (large workstation cell)
P-series cells are large — 90-99Wh. Replacement: $520-$680 fitted.
OLED / mini-LED screen burn-in (top-spec)
Workstation users with persistent ribbon UI see burn-in faster. Panel replacement: $1,200-$1,800 fitted.
RAM upgrade
P-series typically has 2× SO-DIMM slots — 128GB DDR5 upgrades common for heavy CAD users.
SSD upgrade
2× M.2 NVMe slots. We do 4TB+ upgrades with full Windows clone.
Quadro / RTX A driver issues
NVIDIA workstation drivers (vs Studio Drivers vs Game Ready) — we tune to user’s actual workflow. Free remote support.
