The Razer Blade 17 Pro was Razer’s 17-inch flagship for the 2021 and 2022 generations. Razer discontinued the 17″ form factor after the 2022 line — but the installed base in Australia is substantial. The Blade 17 was the desktop-replacement option before the Blade 18 took over that role.

Service pattern on Blade 17: the larger chassis is actually easier to work on than the Blade 14/15 — more space inside, conventional heatpipe cooling on most SKUs (vapor chamber only on top-spec RTX 3080 Ti), and a bigger battery that gives us more headroom for safe disassembly. Blade 17 2021 RTX 3080 — overheating fix?

Classic liquid-metal pump-out on this SKU. We see a steady stream. Fix is full pump-out clean + re-application with proper nickel-foil dam. $420 fitted.

4K 120Hz panel on Blade 17 — repairable?

Yes. The 4K 120Hz panel on the 2021 Blade 17 is a Razer-specific part — $1,400-$1,800 fitted. The 4K 144Hz on the 2022 is a different SKU, slightly cheaper.

Battery swap on 17-inch Blade?

Yes. 70.5 Wh on 2021, 82 Wh on 2022. Both swap freely. $620-$720 fitted with cycle reset.

Should I upgrade to Blade 18 instead of repairing?

Honest answer: depends. If your Blade 17 just needs a $300 repaste or $700 battery, repair. If it needs a $1,400+ panel AND another major component, the Blade 18 18-inch flagship at $5-7K AUD might make sense. We’ll quote both options.
