Hard drives, SSDs and externals

When the office NAS goes red
A degraded RAID array or a NAS (Synology, QNAP, WD) that has dropped a disk is recoverable — if you stop. No technician nearby? Start with remote recovery

First, do no harm: power the device off and stop using it — every minute of use risks overwriting your files.
