Common Issues & How We Fix Them
Battery swell (very common at 5+ years)
Pro 7 batteries reach swell stage from year 4 onwards in heavy daily use. Replacement: $400-$550 fitted, 2-4 hours workshop.
USB-C port failure
The Pro 7 introduced USB-C to the Pro line. The port wears the same way other USB-C ports do — tongue damage, contact wear. Flex replacement: $300-$420 fitted.
Surface Connect still in use
Surface Connect alongside USB-C. Same pin-wear issues as earlier Pros. We replace either or both as needed.
Cracked screen
Bonded assembly. $550-$650 fitted, same-day.
Wi-Fi 6 dropouts
Pro 7 introduced Wi-Fi 6. Antenna and radio issues are uncommon but we diagnose them with a known-good Wi-Fi 6 reference rig.
Pro 7+ removable SSD upgrade
Only the Pro 7+ (business model) has a user-accessible M.2 2230 NVMe slot. Upgrade with full system clone — 2 hours.
