The Original PC Doctor is looking for remote internet and modem support technicians to help customers across Australia reconnect — all from home, over the phone and remotely. If you understand NBN, modems, routers and Wi-Fi, and you’re patient with people who just want their internet working, this is your role.

About the role

You’ll be the calm voice customers reach when their internet drops out or their new modem won’t connect. Over the phone (and remotely where the device allows), you’ll diagnose and resolve connectivity problems — NBN connection types, modem and router setup, Wi-Fi dead spots, slow speeds, port-forwarding and DNS issues. You’ll know when a fault sits with the customer’s gear versus their provider, and you’ll coordinate an onsite visit with our field technicians when hardware needs hands-on attention.

A typical day might include

Taking customer calls and support requests with a calm, helpful manner
Diagnosing internet drop-outs, slow speeds and Wi-Fi coverage problems
Setting up and configuring modems and routers across the NBN connection types (FTTP, FTTN, HFC, Fixed Wireless)
Sorting Wi-Fi channels, mesh systems, range extenders and dead-spot issues
Walking customers through provider checks and isolating gear-vs-network faults
Logging jobs accurately in our web-based platform and following up so the customer is genuinely sorted

What you’ll need

Solid knowledge of home/SMB networking — modems, routers, Wi-Fi and the NBN
Understanding of IP basics, DNS, port forwarding and common connection types
Confidence guiding customers through router admin pages and remote tools
Excellent phone manner and clear written communication
Patience and real empathy — many of our customers aren’t tech-savvy
A reliable home internet connection and a quiet space to take calls
Previous ISP support, networking or IT support experience is a plus (attitude matters most)
