What our IT support covers
The Original PC Doctor has been delivering Australian-owned IT support since 2001. We work with sole traders, small businesses up to ~50 staff, franchise owners, medical practices, legal firms, trades, and anyone running a home office. Everything below is priced on a clear per-job or per-hour basis — no surprise invoices.
IT helpdesk & troubleshooting
Can’t print? Outlook won’t send? Computer running like molasses? Our technicians diagnose and fix the symptom and the root cause — by phone, remote session, or on-site within hours (metro).
Small-business IT support
We become your part-time IT department. User setup, email migrations, Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace admin, hardware lifecycle, network management, and vendor liaison. No managed-service contract required.
Desktop & PC support
Windows 10 / 11 and Mac desktop support, application installs, driver repairs, peripheral setup, Wi-Fi and network printer troubleshooting, and new-computer setup.
Data backup & recovery
Cloud backup configuration, local Network Attached Storage (NAS) setup, restore testing, and emergency recovery from failed drives. See our data recovery service →
Cyber-hygiene & malware
Malware removal, phishing cleanup, password and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) hardening, endpoint protection rollout, and employee security training. Real cyber-hygiene, not scare tactics.

Network & Wi-Fi
Business-grade Wi-Fi design, mesh installations, Virtual Private Network (VPN) configuration, NBN troubleshooting, and secure guest network setup — residential and commercial premises.

How it works
- Call or book online. Tell us what’s broken, we’ll tell you what we think and give you a price up-front.
- Remote or on-site. Most issues start with a 10-minute remote session. If we need to be in the room, our technician is dispatched the same business day in metro areas.
- Fix and follow-up. Job done, notes emailed, and a 14-day follow-up on the same issue at no charge if it recurs.
Frequently asked IT support questions
How much does IT support cost?
Our standard hourly rate is $180 + GST on-site and $150 + GST remote. Common jobs (new-computer setup, malware cleanup, email migration) are offered at a fixed price. Small-business clients can move to a monthly managed-services plan starting at $88/user/month for predictable costs.
Do you work after hours?
Yes. Our help desk covers 8 am – 8 pm AEST seven days a week, with emergency after-hours cover for managed-services clients. Standard rates apply weekdays, a small out-of-hours surcharge after 6 pm weekdays and weekends.

Do you support Macs as well as PCs?
Yes — we have certified Apple-experienced technicians across every metro region. MacBook repair, iMac diagnostics, macOS upgrades, and mixed Mac/Windows business networks are all standard work for us.
Can you help with just one computer, or do I need a contract?
Absolutely, no contract required. Call us for a one-off fix and you’ll pay for only what you need. We’ll only suggest a managed plan if it genuinely saves you money.
Do you service regional and rural Australia?
Remote support is nationwide — if you have internet, we can help. On-site service is concentrated in the capital-city metro rings, but we have regional partner technicians across most of Australia. Call us for a dispatch check.
What if you can’t fix my problem?
You don’t pay for the diagnostic. Our no-fix-no-fee policy covers any job where we’re unable to resolve the reported issue. This doesn’t apply to requested work that was completed or to hardware that is beyond economic repair.
