Did You Know? Humans blink about 15-20 times per minute normally, but only 3-4 times when staring at a computer screen. That's why your eyes feel dry.

Why businesses choose The Original PC Doctor

  • 25+ years in Australian IT. We’ve been fixing computers in Australia since 2001 — a lifetime in IT years. You get technicians who’ve seen every Windows release since XP.
  • Real Australian humans. No offshore call centres, no scripted escalations. The person who picks up the phone is based in Australia and knows what they’re doing.
  • On-site or remote — your call. Remote support starts within minutes. On-site technicians in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Hobart, and Darwin metro areas.
  • No lock-in contracts. Pay per job, pay per hour, or upgrade to a managed-services plan when you’re ready. Your budget, your pace.
  • Fast response. Remote help-desk response averages under 20 minutes during business hours. On-site metro same-day or next-business-day.
  • Transparent pricing. Fixed-price for common jobs, hourly for everything else, with a no-fix-no-fee guarantee on diagnostic work.

IT support in your capital city

Looking for local? We have dedicated city pages with local technicians, landmark-aware service zones, and the correct local phone number for each region:

How it works

  1. Call or book online. Tell us what’s broken, we’ll tell you what we think and give you a price up-front.
  2. Remote or on-site. Most issues start with a 10-minute remote session. If we need to be in the room, our technician is dispatched the same business day in metro areas.
  3. Fix and follow-up. Job done, notes emailed, and a 14-day follow-up on the same issue at no charge if it recurs.
🇦🇺
Australian Tech Tip: If you're in a bushfire-prone area, keep an off-site cloud backup — a Universal Serial Bus (USB) drive won't help if it melts with the house.

Frequently asked IT support questions

How much does IT support cost?

Our standard hourly rate is $180 + GST on-site and $150 + GST remote. Common jobs (new-computer setup, malware cleanup, email migration) are offered at a fixed price. Small-business clients can move to a monthly managed-services plan starting at $88/user/month for predictable costs.

Do you work after hours?

Yes. Our help desk covers 8 am – 8 pm AEST seven days a week, with emergency after-hours cover for managed-services clients. Standard rates apply weekdays, a small out-of-hours surcharge after 6 pm weekdays and weekends.

Professional computer repair equipment used by our Australian technicians — 30+ years servicing Australian homes
Professional-grade tools and genuine parts — standard kit for every repair Australia-wide.
Do you support Macs as well as PCs?

Yes — we have certified Apple-experienced technicians across every metro region. MacBook repair, iMac diagnostics, macOS upgrades, and mixed Mac/Windows business networks are all standard work for us.

Can you help with just one computer, or do I need a contract?

Absolutely, no contract required. Call us for a one-off fix and you’ll pay for only what you need. We’ll only suggest a managed plan if it genuinely saves you money.

Do you service regional and rural Australia?

Remote support is nationwide — if you have internet, we can help. On-site service is concentrated in the capital-city metro rings, but we have regional partner technicians across most of Australia. Call us for a dispatch check.

What if you can’t fix my problem?

You don’t pay for the diagnostic. Our no-fix-no-fee policy covers any job where we’re unable to resolve the reported issue. This doesn’t apply to requested work that was completed or to hardware that is beyond economic repair.
